The research related to the Usher syndrome performed in the Wolfrum lab was honored by the patient trust Foundation Fighting Blindness in February 2008 during their annual “Day of Science” meeting in San Diego, CA, USA. The “Board of Directors Award” was presented to Uwe Wolfrum “For his contribution toward defining the role of Usher syndrome proteins in photoreceptor biology, thereby elucidating potential targets for treatments and cure”. The scientific success leading to this unrivaled award would not have been possible without the contribution of all lab members, post-docs doctoral, diploma and bachelor students and the skillful help of our technicians as well as the fruitful collaboration with our national and international collaborators.
